Fall’N’Stars
Our annual star party co-hosted with RASC Belleville Centre, held each September near the new moon at a dark sky location in The County. A weekend of camping, observing, and fellowship under the stars.
Science Rendezvous
The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) plays a pivotal role at Science Rendezvous, Canada’s largest one-day science festival, by bringing the wonders of the cosmos directly to the public. As a staple exhibitor, RASC volunteers transform streetscapes and campuses into temporary observatories, offering “sidewalk astronomy” sessions that allow thousands of visitors to view the Sun through specialized solar telescopes or catch glimpses of daytime celestial objects. Beyond the eyepiece, the RASC provides an interactive experience featuring hands-on demonstrations about cratering, light pollution abatement, and the scale of the solar system. Their presence serves as a bridge between professional science and amateur passion, sparking curiosity in future astronomers and providing citizens with a rare, up-close look at the technology used to explore our universe.

Frontenac Lennox & Addington Science Fair (FLASF)
The Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Science Fair (FLASF) is an annual event that provides an opportunity for Grades 5 to 12 students in the region to showcase their knowledge, talents and ingenuity in science, engineering, and technology.
FLASF is a community run, local competition where prizes, trophies, certificates, and cash awards are given to students with what are judged to be the best projects. Approximately $20,000 in cash, summer camps, books, internships, and travel awards to the Canada Wide Science Fair (CWSF) are given to the winning students each year. FLASF is an affiliate of Youth Science Canada, who manage the Canada Wide Science Fair.
