The RASC Kingston Centre holds Monthly Public Meetings on the second Wednesday of each month from September through June, 7:00 to 9:00 PM, at Ellis Hall, Queen’s University. Each meeting features a guest speaker presentation on an astronomical topic, followed by a “What’s Up in the Sky” segment highlighting current celestial events, a national report with updates from the broader RASC organization, and time for members to share their own recent observations and projects. Meetings are free and open to the general public — you do not need to be a member to attend. A long-standing tradition is the pre-meeting social dinner at the historic Portsmouth Tavern, where members and guests gather at 5:00 PM before heading to the meeting. Whether you are a seasoned observer or simply curious about the night sky, our meetings offer a welcoming place to learn, share, and connect with the local astronomy community.
