RASC General Assembly
Call for Member Papers
Friday June 4 to Monday June 7, 2027
Member Papers are a tradition of every General Assembly: 20-minute presentations by RASC members, given live in Kingston, streamed on Zoom to the GA's online delegates, and recorded. Presenters must attend the GA in person in Kingston. There is no option to present remotely, so please submit only if you plan to register and be there. They are the part of the program that belongs to the members, and we would like as many voices in it as possible. Whatever your experience and whatever the subject — a research result, an image, an instrument you built, a piece of history or an outreach program that worked — we would like to hear about it, and so would your fellow members.
The GA theme is Come Together, and the program follows it through four sessions. We hope to see member presentations in each of them:
Presentations are not limited to these themes. If your work fits one of them, so much the better; if it does not, submit it anyway and choose Other.
Submissions remain open until the program is complete, and a waitlist will be kept for extras. The program committee will read every submission, and invitations will go out near the end of the year. Space in the program is limited, so we cannot promise every submission a place, but every one will be read and considered.
A Member Paper is a presentation of up to 20 minutes, including questions, in which an RASC member presents their own work: an observing project, a research result, an instrument or technique they have built or refined, a historical study, or an education or outreach program. Member Papers are a long-standing GA tradition and are scheduled within the themed sessions where they fit. First-time presenters are welcome.
