Partial Solar Eclipse viewing in Kingston Mon Aug 21

Monday 2017 August 21, 1pm to 4pm
Confederation Park, Ontario Street across from City Hall.
Kingston Centre members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada will be teaming up with Queen's University and Royal MIlitaryCollege (RMC) graduate students
to help give you a glimpse of the 2017 Solar Eclipse.

While the event is a total solar eclipse this is not the case for our location in Kingston . We will however see greater than 50% of the sun blocked by the Moon.
We will have solar filtered telescopes and hand held viewers that will allow you to view the eclipse safely.  Maximum eclipse will occur at about 2:35pm.
At no time during the eclipse in Kingston will it be safe to view the sun without a proper filtering device.
