A special "members only" meeting of the RASC Kingston Centre will be held virtually by Zoom, on Wednesday, the 31st of July, 2024 at 7 pm EDT.
The purpose of this meeting is to ask the membership of the centre if they are in favour of accepting our new by-laws.
Over the last 7 months, The Centre's Board of Directors has been hard at work crafting new Kingston Centre By-Laws.
Acceptance of our rewritten and updated Bylaws is required to comply with ONCA (Ontario’s Not-for-Profit Corporations Act).
ONCA was proclaimed on October 19, 2021, and existing not-for-profits have been provided a three-year transition period to make the necessary changes to their governing documents.
The deadline to adopt the updated By-Laws and to comply with Ontario legislation, is October 18, 2024.
You will find the new Bylaws attached in your email (sent 2024june30) for your review.
The Centre's Board of Directors is providing a review period for members before a vote is held.
Comments and questions from members are welcome, but must allow time for consideration and response.
The deadline for comments and questions is July 24, 2024. If you do you have a question or comment please email Kingston@rasc.ca as soon as you are able to.
For those who are unable to attend the meeting, advance voting by email to Kingston@rasc.ca before July 31st, 2024, at 7 pm is an acceptable option.
This meeting is for members in good standing as of the 31st of July, 2024 at 7 pm EDT.
