Queen's Observatory Open House

Event Date

Free event!   Free parking on surface lots on Queens Campus - the closest to Ellis Hall is the MacCorry Parking Lot off Union and Albert Sts.

Ellis Hall is on University Avenue between Jeffrey Hall, Richardson Hall and across from Ontario Hall.

The observatory is on the 4th floor (elevators or stairs).  A lecture *may* be held in the main floor auditorium... watch for signs!

The first Queen's Observatory was established in the mid-19th century, the beginning of a long and distinguished history of astronomical observing at Queen's University. The current Observatory houses a 14-inch reflecting telescope in a dome on the roof of Ellis Hall, used primarily for student training and public demonstrations.
